Even though China has instituted rehab centers for teenagers addicted to the internet, it’s Canadians who use the internet more than any other nation. A study conducted by comScore Canada in 2015 showed that the people of Canada spend a good amount of their time online. People in The United States and The United Kingdom also spend some amount of their time online. On average, Canadians spend 36.3 hours browsing around, and visit around 80 websites in one month’s time. To compare, Americans spend an average of 35.2 hours online each month. Next is the U.K. at around 33 hours online per month.
As no great surprise, the study also resulted in showing that more and more Canadians were accessing the internet by using mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. This was instead of using the primary method of a computer. Mobile subscribers and users to different applications and publications rose 5 percent to 24 million people from 2014-2015. Although the majority mobile time is spent on Social Media and next website interests, online shopping plays a big factor in Canada’s monthly internet usage.
